Your Autumn experience.
Everything needed to begin, share one unhurried seasonal moment, make alongside the films and know where to go next.
Begin clearly

You do not need to complete the Companion in order. Choose one part that feels inviting. Looking, listening, humming, singing, comfortable movement, making, sharing or stillness are all complete ways to take part.
01Prepare
Choose a screen, a comfortable place and only the materials for the moment you plan to use.
02Open
Use the Companion’s Start Here panel or Contents to choose one seasonal moment.
03Share
Let the person or group set the pace. Watching quietly is complete participation.
04Keep
Use A Moment to Keep only if wanted. Nothing is sent automatically.
05Return
Return to the window, Journal, a later season or ask Memories about the next step.
What access includes: the private Autumn Companion, this delivery area, the shared-use guide, the three full making guides and three optional Spotify listening journeys. Physical materials are not included unless a written proposal expressly says they are.
Moments in Colour
Make this moment.
Each private guide follows Roz’s original film. Prepare the materials first, play or pause the film as often as helpful, and treat holding, choosing, watching or stopping as valid participation.

The sunflower piece.
A layered autumn plaque that can be made by choosing colour, painting one detail, placing one form—or simply watching it gather.

Materials
- One round wooden or rigid craft plaque, about 25–30 cm
- Autumn floral decoupage paper or a legally purchased napkin design
- Water-based decoupage medium or PVA suitable for the chosen surface
- Soft flat brush and small detail brushes
- Water-based acrylic paint: yellow, orange, red, green, brown, cream and optional gold
- Pre-dried air-dry clay or lightweight moulded forms: sunflower, small pumpkin, wheat/leaves and acorn or similar autumn forms
- Craft adhesive suitable for the plaque and dry embellishments
- Water pot, palette, cloths, apron and table covering
- Optional water-based clear sealer, used only to its manufacturer’s instructions
Planning quantity: one plaque and one set of dry forms per maker; one soft brush per colour-sensitive task; shared paint pots can serve a small table.
Before the moment
- Prepare the forms in advance. Press air-dry modelling compound into clean autumn moulds, remove carefully and leave until fully dry. This drying stage may take 24–48 hours; follow the product instructions.
- Prepare the plaque. Make sure it is clean, dry and smooth. Cut or tear the decoupage design to fit without copying protected artwork.
Make it step by step
- Brush a thin, even layer of decoupage medium over a small area of the plaque.
- Lay the paper down gradually from the centre outward. Smooth with the soft brush and add only enough medium to secure it. Allow to dry.
- Arrange the dry sunflower, pumpkin and smaller forms before gluing. Keep the main flower low enough that the printed surface still breathes.
- Fix each form with the chosen craft adhesive. A staff member should handle any stronger or hot adhesive.
- Paint from broad colour to detail: warm yellow petals, orange-red pumpkin, cream or gold wheat, then green and brown accents. Let each layer settle before adding another.
- Leave flat until fully dry. Add an optional water-based sealer only when all paint and adhesive are dry.
Participation choices: offer two colours rather than many; invite someone to choose where one form rests; place a brush in the hand only if welcomed; or watch the colour being added.
Making guide 02 · 35–60 minutes plus drying
Leaves held in layers.
A simple woodland relief built from a warm painted ground, branching marks and gathered dry leaves.

Materials
- One round sheet of heavy card, mountboard or thin craft board, about 25–30 cm
- Water-based acrylic paint in copper or burnt orange
- Dark brown paint or broad water-based marker for branching lines
- Wide brush or sponge and a smaller branch-line brush
- About 12–20 clean, fully dry fallen leaves in varied sizes
- Water-based tacky craft adhesive suitable for dry leaves and card
- Palette, water pot, cloths, apron and table covering
- Optional metallic paint for a final light touch
Planning quantity: one prepared ground and 12–20 leaves per maker. Gather more leaves than needed so there is real choice.
Make it step by step
- Paint the whole round ground with a loose copper or orange wash. Uneven brush marks can remain; they hold the sense of the season.
- While the ground is touch-dry, paint a simple trunk and several branching lines from one edge toward the centre. Leave room for the leaves.
- Lay dry leaves over the ground without adhesive first. Turn and overlap them until the arrangement feels balanced.
- Lift one leaf at a time, add a small amount of tacky adhesive beneath the strongest part of the leaf and return it to position.
- Build a second layer where wanted, keeping some edges loose enough to cast a natural shadow.
- Press very gently with clean fingers or cover with clean baking parchment and a light flat weight while the adhesive begins to set.
- Remove the weight and leave flat until fully dry. Add one light metallic mark only if it helps the composition.
Participation choices: choose the ground colour, sort leaves by size, place one leaf, trace one branch in the air, hold a leaf nearby or watch the layers gather.
Making guide 03 · 15–30 minutes plus drying
A leaf catches the light.
The quietest making moment: one dry leaf, one soft brush and a little metallic warmth.

Materials
- One or more clean, fully dry, sturdy fallen leaves
- Water-based metallic acrylic paint in copper, bronze or soft gold
- One soft flat brush
- Palette or small dish
- Scrap card or a washable mat beneath the leaf
- Apron, cloths and a drying tray
- Optional ribbon or card for displaying the dry leaf; do not pierce a fragile leaf
Planning quantity: allow 3–5 leaves per person so brittle leaves can be replaced and colour can be tested.
Make it step by step
- Choose a dry leaf with clear veins and no damp or mould. Place it vein-side up on scrap card.
- Put out a small amount of metallic paint. Remove excess from the brush so the first layer stays light.
- Support the leaf gently near its stem and brush from the centre vein outward, following the natural structure.
- Leave some of the original leaf visible. Add a second colour or a little more shine only after the first layer is touch-dry.
- Move the leaf to a flat drying tray. When fully dry, rest it on card, place it in a small seasonal display or simply hold it in the light.
Participation choices: choose copper, bronze or gold; make one brush stroke; follow the veins with the eyes or a finger beside the leaf; hold the finished leaf to the light; or remain still and watch.
Preparation & safety
Set the table before people arrive.
- Use only products labelled suitable for the intended users and follow manufacturer instructions.
- Check allergies, sensitivities, ventilation and individual support needs.
- Protect clothes and surfaces; keep drinks separate from paint and adhesive.
- Use blunt tools where possible. Staff handle blades, hot glue or stronger adhesive.
- Discard damp, mouldy, sharp or heavily sprayed natural material.
- Small moulded pieces are not suitable where they may be mouthed or swallowed.
- Offer one clear choice at a time and never require touch, speech, memory or completion.
- Photograph or share a finished piece only with clear permission.

Music usage register
What is permitted—and what remains held.
This register is intentionally conservative. Availability on Spotify is not evidence that Memories owns, commercially licenses or may publicly perform a recording.
1 · Permitted playlist creation and link-sharingMemories may curate suggested playlists and share genuine Spotify links for optional listening. The links identify Spotify as the destination; no endorsement or commercial relationship is implied.
2 · Personal listeningAn individual may choose to listen through their own Spotify access, subject to Spotify’s terms, advertising, account, device, territory and track availability. A free ad-supported option may be available, but Memories does not promise free access.
RIGHTS / LEGAL HOLD3 · Organisational or public playbackCare-group, workplace, commissioned, organisational or public playback requires separate evidence of both an appropriate business music-streaming service and the venue or operator’s applicable UK public-performance licence, normally TheMusicLicence.
4 · Prohibited or held usesNo downloading, copying, extracting, embedding, autoplaying, broadcasting or redistributing recordings; no reproduced lyrics; no commercial recordings in the Companion, website, campaign films or other Memories media; no artist, songwriter, label or Spotify endorsement claim.
